Crucible of the Gods

Facilitator:
Tim Oliver

Centuries ago, the four deities – Kishar, Kotaresh, Lyth, and Asar-Segt – threatened to drown the world in a flood of saltwater to punish the living for their impiety.

The oracles and witches of your realm struck a desperate bargain with the gods, however, and convinced them to spare the world. In exchange, the mortal tribes were bound to demonstrate their faith once each generation by sending their most courageous and adroit warriors to the Crucible, a ziggurat in the lowest valley of the land.

Your tribes stand waiting in fear and hope. Prove the world is worthy

Formed in the late 1980s they are a secret organisation allowing stars to game amongst their own people. The Gm has been running a game for the last 2 years on the biweekly Tuesday game in Hollywood.

The sun has gone down on this fateful Thursday night , the GM is late and the party assembles in a underground gaming grotto for the last session of the campaig after a few missed games. The players are coming together for the final battle against the Evil Dragon king and his goblin horde.

Unfortunately the players have become a little.... disfunctional.

The Great Kiwi Summer Holiday

Facilitator:
Trish Plunket

"Muuuuum, I'm booooored."
You've ridden your bike, played with your rollerblades, padda tennis is lame, you broke your water pistol three days ago, you've played "Guess Who" eighteen million times, and your sister is annoying you.

And there's no TV.

You're a kid and summer holidays at Lake Taupo are always wet and boring. The grown-ups just want grown-up time and the kids next door went home two days ago. Kind of weird that they didn't say good bye. And now, not only is it going to rain, apparently there's a big storm coming...

(Note: yes, I will run this this year - sorry about the whole not making it last year due to sickness.)

Circus Game

Facilitator:
William Howard

In which a group of young circus performers are abandoned, and must track down their circus family, learning where they come from and how important they are to each other in the process. The players take on the roles of circus performers in America, in the 1870s.
The civil war has ravaged the south, and while reconstruction money is starting to flow into the bigger cities, life is very hard in small town America. Times are hard, and the players find themselves having to make some tough choices..
Thematically the game deals with what it means to be a family, with consequences, and with the price of happiness

This is an SDC game by Matt Cowens.

LARP: The Wreck of the Philemon

Facilitator:
Russ Kale

As a member of the Philemon's noble crew, you've survived all kinds of inane shenanigans at the hands of that cruel mistress, space. You've stared down bounty hunters, fought robot uprisings, and navigated through the inky blackness. Most importantly, you've got enough stories to write a bestselling autobiography.

Unfortunately, your luck has run out, and you've found yourself crash-landed on a Tien-forsaken asteroid somewhere in the far reaches of the universe. Your ship's oxygen filters are compromised, and there's only a matter of time before your saga draws to a close. Two hours, to be precise.

Let's face it, there's no point in being noble any more. There's only a few things worth doing at this stage, and they're all designed to give you a short burst of meaningful happiness.
After all, it's not like your passionate outbursts could make the situation any worse, right?

Sundown

Facilitator:
Dale

It’s easy to feel alone as the shadows gather and the pale moon rises over the High Plains. The Cherokee say that on nights like this, the cold wind from the prairie has a mind of its own – a malignant chill, born of the darkness, which eats at your warmth, and steals all compassion.

It was a night like that when Barton Duvall rode into Tombstone. A night like that when they found what was left of little Alina Hundle –the few sad remains, barely recognizable, that Barton had left for her family to bury. And, it was a night like that when you realised that justice was more than a word bandied around by fearful shopkeepers – it was a necessity.

The year is 1880, and the posse is forming…

Sundown is a character-driven scenario of the old-west written to celebrate the 30th anniversary of Call of Cthulhu. It was originally run at Fright Night 5.
