When the Dark One threatened the existence of all life itself, the five greatest heroes from across the Empire banded together to vanquish him once and for all. Escorted by a unit of the Emperor's finest soldiers, they traveled to the Gates of Despair, beyond which lay the heart of the Dark One's realm. Leaving the soldiers to hold the Gates as best they could, the five heroes fought their way onward to the Tower of Damnation, there to make their final stand.
A mighty battle was fought, but the heroes triumphed, successfully conducting the ritual to banish the Dark One from the world. Unfortunately, in the process all of the heroes were slain. Knowing this was a possibility and sensing it would be bad for the morale of the citizens were they to learn of the deaths of the heroes, the Emperor and his advisors came up with a cunning plan. Lookalikes were hired to appear in a triumphant parade to reassure everyone that all was well. That's where you come in. After performing your part, you were given a truly staggering amount of money and told to disappear, never to speak of your role in the deception, under pain of death.
That was ten years ago, and there's a knock at the door...

The job: Steal the Sceptre of Wonders from the Royal Treasury, deep beneath the Pink Palace, in the city of Anaxapajura, capital of the remote tropical island nation of Hcunanzamon. An impossible task, say most.
They don't know about the secret door inside though. On the other side of this door? The fabled place known as Down Below, a vast labyrinth of wonder and mystery, according to legend one of the last remnants of an ancient but advanced society who vanished abruptly thousands of years ago.
But there's a map, showing a safe path through the mysterious machinery, deadly traps and ancient guardians, which will enable you to escape beneath the city to the exit and be away on your waiting ship before the alarm is raised.
Of course, those rumours Down Below has been known to completely change its layout for no apparent reason whatsoever aren't true...

Murder Under An Indigo Sun

Facilitator:
Conan McKegg

The Great War has ended. The Vislae have returned to the Actuality and the Glistening City is rebuilding.

But the scars of war remain. Even though nobody remembers precisely what happened or who was on what side, or even what sides there were.

Magical Cysts are all across the city, places where the magic of the war has left behind areas too toxic to enter.

It’s a time of rebuilding and healing.

And today in your office a new client has come with an unusual problem. A Vislae has been murdered and they want you to help them find who murdered them and recover their body...

Invisible Sun is a surreal urban fantasy where our world is a lie. A false shadow of the real world, the Actuality, which exists under the Indigo Sun. One of the eight known suns of reality.

You are a Vislae, people of immense power. Dealers in magic and secrets. Those who follow the ninth, Invisible Sun.

You live in the Glistening City of Satyrine, a place where the impossible is an everyday occurance. Where for many death is not the end but an inconvenience.

It’s a game of mysteries and secrets. Some in game and some using the game components.

In the City of Fire and Coin, all the roads meet.
In the City of Fire and Coin, old gods sleep.
In the City of Fire and Coin, the rooftop monkey armys fight.
In the City of Fire and Coin, test your mettle and test your might.

A different system by Epidiah Ravachol, author of Dread. The style is "extreme narrative" - ideally, you should be channeling the spirits of Mako and Patrick Stewart with the bombast of "Highlander". Or, y'know, Conan, which is what it was written for.

We share one pair of dice, which you can only roll if someone gives them to you.

Explore the city of Fire and Coin, narrate it like you married a thesaurus, and make up most of it on the spot.

Kaldera: The Homunculus Gang

Facilitator:
Chris Haddock

They're ratbags and scoundrels who don't know no law,
They're a horribly cantankerous crew.
The Homunculus Gang are the bosses of town,
And they're coming to say hi to YOU!

Nobody in town messes with the Homunculus Gang. They're small time bullies and thugs, but they have big money and bigger magic behind them. So when they come knocking with their grins and their stupid hats people just clam up and pay them the danger money.

But they've gone knocking a bit too hard on the wrong door.

Barry is mad. Hell, Barry is always mad. Being the owner of the largest Bed and Breakfast chain in Kaldera will do that to you. But today Barry is madder than mad. He's effing furious. The Homunculus Gang cruelly destroyed the door of his favourite establishment, and now he wants revenge. That's why he's calling on you. Mayhem, murder, trickery and treachery, Bed and Breakfast Barry doesn't care how you do it, just so long as you make sure the Homunculus Gang doesn't dare come knocking in his neighbourhood again.

About the Game:

Kaldera is a setting for the Fate Core and Fate Accelerated game systems that I have created. It's unique feature is a custom magic system that uses an alphabet of runes that each have a base name and a multitude of meanings. The goal is to use your imagination and cunning to create crafty spells and grand effects using three runes. Since it is Fate, the sky's the limit! Come to this game ready to do some crazy magic, in a crazy city full of crazy people!

You do not need any prior knowledge of the system or the setting, everything will be learned and explained at the table, although some knowledge of Fate Accelerated will be useful. Character's skill sets are pre-constructed, but names and backgrounds will be done at the table as well. No dice are needed, but some paper and pencils are useful.

Kaldera: City of Mages

Facilitator:
Chris Haddock

In Kaldera, you play a magically gifted individual.

Everyone in the world of Kaldera has the spark of magic, but few can stand the training to build that spark to a flame. Those with the potential are taken to the great city of Kaldera itself to either develop their skills of learn to live with what they have.

Using the power Fate Core system, with my own magic rules that focus on the use of glyphs and a player's imagination, we shall create characters that posses skill with magic and throw them into one of the many plots surrounding the constantly bickering guilds in Kaldera. This game is about epic steampunk style ridiculousness, imagination, and above all player input! In Fate you have as much power to bend the story as a GM does, I have no idea what could happen.

Ideally four or five players who love magic, bio-mechs, and being generally over the top. As a bonus, you will get your own Glyph Tokens to take home!

No dice required, as I shall use the Deck of Fate for outcomes.

Karen Dransfield

Set in the world of Living Forgotten Realms lives a range of good guys and not so good guys. You will be playing adventurers who are part of a mercenary guild set out to complete an assigned job. It might be a rescue, it might be an information hunt, it might be a hunting of some murderous monsters and much more.

There will be a range of different mini games on offer, and each group that plays will get to chose which game they would like to play. This is the RPGA game slot, with games running in time with the other game slots. If you have RPGA sanctioned characters please bring them along and I will work them into the games.
