Tomb of the Serpent Kings

Facilitator:
Tim Crow

The Tomb of the Serpent Kings. Everyone knows the lands around here were ruled by a snake-man empire in ancient times, but a goat-herd came back saying that she'd found one of their tombs. For most people, that was a warning.

For you? Riches and glory glittered in your eyes.

It'll be dangerous, which is why you've brought along allies. And a few of the local folk to watch your horses and maybe carry things. Before you lies a tunnel leading into the hillside, the long grass that obscured it pulled away.

Tomb of the Serpent Kings was written as a "learn how to play an OSR dungeon" module. In its full size, it's several sessions of content, but this game will just run to the clock and see how far the players can get.

White Box Fantasy Medieval Adventure Game is a game that harkens back to the original 1974 version of Dungeons and Dragons, when caution, tactics, and 10 foot poles were much more reliable than heroics of a character sheet. It is a lot more freeform and rulings based than other games, so players are encouraged to try things and investigate their environment.

This game is likely going to have a decent number of character deaths, so we'll be playing from a stack of pregenerated characters to keep the game flowing.
