Somebody Think of the Children

Facilitator:
Tigger

Step into the role of all-American moms in the 1990s who find themselves in the grip of a Satanic Panic as they investigate the odd nighttime activities of local teens.

The American suburbs of the 1990s were a celebration of consumer culture: shopping centres, arcades, video rental chains, and a dizzying array of fast-food franchises offered more entertainment and opportunities to shop than ever before.
But despite all this prosperity, something was wrong with the new generation; the kids were not all right. They were dressing in black, wearing heavy make-up, and obsessed with vampires.
Sensationalised crimes like the Kentucky Vampire Killings and bizarre rumours like the Springfield Vampire Tunnels put parents on edge.
The Satanic Panic reemerged, fixated on teens playing a new kind TTRPG: the dreaded vampire storytelling games.

It was a particularly hard time for mothers. Society was still traditional, and moms were expected to be full-time guardians against sex, drugs, violence, and the occult in additional to so many other responsibilities.
