“The tragedy of life is not that the beautiful die young, but that they grow old and mean. It will not happen to me.”
Noir World is film noir, powered by the Apocalypse. It's an RPG of emotion, tragedy, risk, and relationships. The game tells the stories of characters who don't neatly fit into the binary of good and evil and live with the terrible consequences of their emotionally fueled choices. There will be a crime of some kind - but it may be yet to happen or have happened, be the focus of the story or just a dash of spice to the narrative.
In this game, the role of Director rotates around every player to create a weaving narrative full of surprises with characters in conflict with each other in the pursuit of their goals. The players all work together to ensure that all characters get the spotlight in the tale that the group creates and that the characters' stories all reach satisfying conclusions, no matter how dark they might be.
The Brindlewood Charity Poker Tournament is a popular annual event in the Brindlewood Bay calendar. Members of the community are sponsored to play poker with the winnings going to the charity of their choice. However, little does anyone realise how high the stakes they will be playing for will go...
Brindlewood Bay is a roleplaying game about a group of elderly women—members of the local Murder Mavens mystery book club—who frequently find themselves investigating (and solving!) real-life murder mysteries. They become increasingly aware that there are supernatural forces that connect the cases they are working on.
The game is directly inspired by the television show Murder, She Wrote, but also takes inspiration from the works of H.P. Lovecraft, “cozy” crime dramas, and American TV shows from the ‘70s, ‘80s, and ‘90s. Rather than a straight investigation, the players will collaborate to create many of the details of the mystery.
The night before the coronation ceremony of Fire Lord Ozai, Fire Sage Bai arrested several intruders trying to steal a historical scroll from the Dragonbone Catacombs in Royal Caldera City. These brave heroes hoped to save a bit of the undoctored Fire Nation history from Ozai’s wrath, but they now face a lifetime of incarceration! Luckily, an elderly Fire Sage, Niuan, has freed the heroes and given them the scroll they sought, promising to help them if they agree to smuggle him out of the city during their escape. But can Fire Sage Niuan be trusted? How will our heroes escape from the city? And what will Fire Sage Bai do when he realizes they have escaped with the scroll...and Niuan?
Avatar Legends is a heroic fantasy game set in the world of Avatar: The Last Airbender and Legend of Korra in which you play a young hero from one of the Four Nations who is a force of change in the world. The game is about bravery, friendship, and doing what is right in the face of often insurmountable odds. Together with your companions you face devious foes and dangerous opposition, defeat them as a team, and learn what it means to be a hero in the process.
You are the extended assets of vast multinational corporations, operating in the criminal underground, and performing the tasks that those multinationals can’t do — or can’t be seen to do. You are deniable, professional and — ultimately — disposable.
In this session you will create characters, get a job, and play to find out whether they can get paid. We will also set up the Corporate players and the setting for further games of The Sprawl run in Games on Demand over the rest of the weekend. There is no requirement to play in further games and no requirement that you play in this one to play in the others at GoD, it's just a neat way of building a shared set of stories and experiences over the course of the convention.
At this and GoD iterations, I will be playtesting a number of modified rules to facilitate on-the-fly mission and complication generation and smoother hacking rules.
Content Warning: depending on the table action movie violence is highly likely. A heavy-helping of neoliberal corporate bullshit is to be expected. We will use the Script Change safety tool, Open Door policy, and begin with a discussion of lines and veils.
You are a hero sworn to undertake perilous quests in the Ironlands. As an Ironsworn, you will explore untracked wilds, plunge into subterranean caverns, fight desperate battles, forge bonds with isolated communities and uncover the lost secrets of this harsh land.
Are you ready to swear iron vows and see them fulfilled--no matter the cost?
In this session you will create Ironsworn and the iron vows they have sworn, and play to find out whether they can fulfil those vows. We will also set the setting dials for further games of Ironsworn run in Games on Demand over the rest of the weekend. Content Warning: depending on the table horror elements are likely, also murder is highly likely. We will use the Script Change safety tool, Open Door policy, and begin with a discussion of lines and veils.

“You’ve been at sea long enough to know that this is no ordinary storm. This is the storm that comes once in a sailor’s life, that they tell about in every inn house, every tavern, every day for the rest of their lives. This storm is a milestone...or a tombstone.
The rain hits you so hard it seems to fall with personal vengeance. The ship is rocking like a wooden boat in a five year old’s hands. You are tossed well beyond nausea and perhaps even into terror. Lightning cracks through the sky, an ill omen that this storm is far from over.”
"Alas for the Awful Sea" is a Powered-by-the-Apocalypse game exploring the bitter dilemmas facing starving towns torn apart by crime and loss. To tell this story, it delves into the fantastical, weaving in folktale elements that mirror the beliefs and struggles of the town.

Many a fireside tale has been spun from the Forsaken Fell, that stony ledge halfway up Hvitr’s Horn where lies a maze of broken walls clotted by black lava. Before your grandmother’s grandmother walked the world, they say the mountain vomited forth molten rock that destroyed a monastery, its attendant village, and all who dwelt within. Since then, few have dared set foot upon the Fell, fearing the attention of the charred spirits said to stalk the ruins.
One by one, residents of the village at the foot of the mountain have been disappearing. Rumors of distant screams carried on the cold wind and flaming skulls flying through the night have driven those that have not fled to cower fearfully in their huts.
The time has come to get to the bottom of whatever lies beneath the Forsaken Fell.
