KapCon XII -> Twelfth Night ->Cast of Characters

Cast of Characters

If there is a character in the following lists that you would like to play, we need you to pre-register When you pre-register please indicate that you wish to play in the live game and indicate which character (or characters) you are interested in playing. if you have already pre-registered, and have already indicated a character you are interested in, and a character you like better is added, feel free to mail the producer and update your preference.

If you will be attending the game as a couple, and wish to be assigned characters that will interact as a couple in the game, please indicate the name of the person you will be attending with and we will try to help Note that this person must also pre-register and indicate that they are attending with you, or we will asume you are just wishful thinking.

As characters are finally assigned to players, the name of the player will be appended to the cast list. When this happens that character is no longer available.

The producers, as is usual in circumstances such as this, reserve the right to cast people for roles, and there is no guarantee you will get your choice, even if you are first to apply for a character. Feel free to apply for multiple roles, preferrably indcating your order of preference, or just state the general category and type of character you are interested in, if nothing appropriate is currrently available.

To assist us in casting, if you have played in a Kapcon live game or attended an Aliens event in the past, please let the producers know in which game and what role you played.

Finally, please don't worry about all this talk of theatre terms and Shakespeare. We have not suddenly become "artistes", and our primary goal is still to ensure everyone has fun and enjoys themselves. Bear in mind that, "Willy" Shakespeare was a bawd as well as a bard, and even his most serious plays have comedic characters.

Signature Characters

These characters are important to the primary plot and need people of experience and/or skill to play them. It is suggested that if this is your first LARP you don't apply for one of these characters.

Similarly, if you are attending primarily for the fun of the costume and don't want to risk being embarrasssed by being called on to stand out from the crowd, do not request one of these characters.

Extras or Bit Parts

If this is your first time, or you are more interested in watching what happens than taking part, then these are the parts for you.

These parts consist primarily of guards, ladies-in-waiting, and courtiers, and there will be a variable number of them. If you don't pre-register you will probably be assigned one of these characters by default.

But if you are given one of these charaters, don't feel put out, bit characers can still have signficant effects on the plot, and are often used to introduce important information into the game.
