Dr Karl Oserlinde was raised from the age of 9 by Hindu snake charmers after his gambling-obsessed mother was thrown into debtor prison.

Now he operates a health spa on an island in the Adriatic. Dr Oserlinde caters to the ailments of wealthy Italians with his curative injections of snake venom.
