While costumes are not absolutely required, we feel that they help players better capture the spirit of the game and react to the other characters appropriately, so it would be appreciated by all if you would pay some attention to costuming. There will be a prize or two in it as well!
To provide some inspiration to the seamstresses and tailors among you, (I know you're out there) here are some examples of costumes worn during the period and some links to cosuming sites on the web.
Note this page has some large detailed graphics and will take some time to load for people on dial-up connections.
Not all role-players are rich. Not all role-players want to spend lots of money on a costume they may only wear once.
For such people, we will be providing some suggestions on creating an appropriate look for little to no expenditure. It's easier than it may look!
For those who have more money than time, a simple solution to costuming is to hire one. Below we list some sources of costume hire in the Wellington district.
These guys are not cheap, but have some of their stock on their website for viewing.
Again, not cheap, but do have deals for bulk orders.
Cheaper, but no web-site and only open on Wednesday evenings, though they can be asked to open specially if there are a number of people wanting to hire costumes.
