KapCon 24 in 2015 is on Saturday 17th and Sunday 18th of January. Monday 19th is a statutory holiday for Wellington workers and can be used for recovery.

What is KapCon?

KapCon is a not-for-profit role-playing game convention run annually in Wellington, New Zealand, every January. Over a hundred people get together for a weekend of role-playing, in a diverse range of styles and systems. Over the weekend, more than 30 individual games are run, with volunteer GMs (or storytellers, narrators or facilitators) running games between one and six times over the course of the convention.

The SDC Archive has been updated with two of this year's entries, including Stephanie Pegg's winning entry, But Nobody Loses An Eye and Donna & Malcom's amusing Down & Out In Middenburg

We've also added the missing 2008 winning entry For the Honour of the Family. Sorry it's taken us so long to get that one up there!

Where: The Ruby Lounge, 14 Bond St, CBD Wellington
When: From 19:00 (7:00pm) on Friday 22 January
What: A casual get together the evening before the convention to catch up with old acquaintances and meet new attendees.

Pre-con drinks will this year be at the Ruby Lounge, the new establishment where SYN used to be. Be there or be absent.

Its a little over three weeks to go until the con, and we're into the final stretch. And as always at this time of year, we need more games. While we're doing better than we were this time last year, there are still a lot of gaps in the timetable. And because preregistrations are doing way better than last year, we have a bit of a crunch in the first round.

We need more games. Lots more games. Currently, we have 5 each for the first and second rounds, plus games on demand. That gives us around 25 spaces plus GoD, but they'll fill fast once we open registration. So, if you'd like to run first- or second-round, please submit your game today.

Halloween is coming, and that means its time for Fright Night, Wellington's horror roleplaying con.

Where: Turnbull House, opposite the Beehive
What: Two sessions of horror gaming
How much: $15 players, $10 GMs

They already have ten games worth of screaming, shivering, crawling horror - register today!

Well, KapCon 18 is over, and we have to wait an entire year till another. Thanks to everyone who came along and made it such a lot of fun, especially our overseas visitors and the LARP team, but not forgetting all our amazing facilitators!
