The Brindlewood Charity Poker Tournament is a popular annual event in the Brindlewood Bay calendar. Members of the community are sponsored to play poker with the winnings going to the charity of their choice. However, little does anyone realise how high the stakes they will be playing for will go...

Brindlewood Bay is a roleplaying game about a group of elderly women—members of the local Murder Mavens mystery book club—who frequently find themselves investigating (and solving!) real-life murder mysteries. They become increasingly aware that there are supernatural forces that connect the cases they are working on.

The game is directly inspired by the television show Murder, She Wrote, but also takes inspiration from the works of H.P. Lovecraft, “cozy” crime dramas, and American TV shows from the ‘70s, ‘80s, and ‘90s. Rather than a straight investigation, the players will collaborate to create many of the details of the mystery.

Empty Vessels: Inheritance

Facilitator:

There’s talk of good tidings ahead. A celebration, they’re calling it. The dawn of a new era. The birth of an heir.

Officially, the Young Emperor has no spouse and no recognised heir. That has not stopped the people of the Verdelline Empire from spreading rumours about him and the good Lady Stolas, one of his most trusted advisors, as she is soon to have a child. Many people would point out that there is no evidence of any dalliance between the two, but what good is a wet blanket in the face of a juicy scandal?

Of course, there are more important things for people to worry about than whether or not some young man with a nice chair is about to become a father.

The past year and a half has been fraught with tension, with politics being less and less a matter of talking or warfare and more a matter of making one’s enemies simply… disappear. The air is thick with blood and magic, but only if you know where to look.

And, even so, the Young Emperor wishes to make a show of peace. He says he wishes to welcome the child of Lady Stolas into the world with a party like no other. He says he wishes to see better days ahead. Those wishes might just come true— if his enemies don’t come for him first.

Empty Vessels: Inheritance is a Renaissance-themed high-fantasy, high-intrigue game set in the world of Empty Vessels. It takes place one and a half years after the events of EV: Omens, but no prior knowledge is required to play.

You are the Prime Suspect in a Murder Investigation

The world is changing; a great economic depression wipes out the life savings of rich and poor alike.

But the party goes on for the wealthy and well-heeled, determined to ignore the impending financial crisis and dance long into the night.

Now a brutal murder threatens to shatter this world of privilege, influence and power. One of your own is dead and a Great Detective has been summoned to solve the case.

Yes you had a motive, and perhaps even the means and opportunity to commit the murder, but you're certainly not the only one...

Clear your name and uncover the real killer, before it's too late!

Wicked Lies & Alibis is a whodunnit roleplaying experience set in the age of Art Deco. Players generate characters at the table from a selection of cards, and play through several establishing scenes in the lead-up to a murder. The remainder of the game is resolved through accusations, alibis and flashbacks as the characters seek to avoid suspicion by incriminating one another.

Murder, They Wrote

Facilitator:
Mike Foster

Welcome to sleepy Cabot Cove, one of Maine’s most picturesque towns and a popular tourist destination. Except Cabot Cove hides a terrible secret, having the highest murder rate in the entire United States of America.
Jessica Fletcher, best-selling author, amateur sleuth and interfering busybody par excellence, has been murdered, shot by a sniper at a public award ceremony in the town square. And the killer isn’t stopping there, as more of Cabot Cove’s most prominent citizens start to die in grisly fashion.
It’s up to a band of the town’s most unlikely residents to stop the murders, before Cabot Cove is wiped from existence entirely.

Means, Motive, Opportunity

It is the year 1921 and Britain has emerged victorious from The Great War - thanks in part to the efforts of Short Brothers Plc who supplied the planes used in the reconnaissance missions. The owner and chairman, Eustace Short, has invited you to an evening at his home in the countryside, with the understanding that he wishes to make an announcement. Several thoughts rush to mind:

* The company has been suffering lately under his leadership - is he announcing his retirement?
* One of his airships crashed on the City of Hull earlier this year killing 45 people - is he planning to pay reparations or perhaps a memorial?
* Rumour has it that he has been consulting a new lawyer about his will - is he anouncing the changes?

The evening is, however, thrown into disarray when he is found murdered! And to compound matters, you are named as one of the six suspects!

We are looking for six people to play the following characters:
* Scarlett Short - a wealthy young socialite who recently married the victim
* Oswald Short - brother to the victim, part time engineering genius, full time alcoholic and gambler
* Gordon Bell - war buddy to the victim and powerful solicitor
* Cynthia Bell - childhood friend to the victim and married to Gordon Bell
* John Parker - young, ambitious and second in charge of the company
* Herman Smit - the local General Practitioner and personal physician to the victim

Means, Motive, Opportunity is an online and multiplayer game. It involves using a web site and engaging with other players via voice conference. We will bring the computers, you will bring your voice and your imagination.

The game will be run in an offsite location a short walk from Wellington High School
