Sonic Screwdrivers Don't Go There!

Facilitator:
Dillon

You play one of The Computer's elite agents. Your job is to search out and destroy the enemies of The Computer. Your worst fear is that The Computer will discover that you are one of these enemies. Today, your friend The Computer has asked you to report to the WHO sector briefing room. This may have something to do with the announcement that all the cleaning robots in WHO sector have begun attacking medical personnel. You had better hurry to the briefing, you don't want to be tardy!

Night Terrors

Facilitator:
Jenni Sands

Every night you have to listen to your kid, you have to pay attention to what they say and when they say ‘there’s something under the bed’ you have to nod and go find your baseball bat.

Night Terrors is a new game by Jenni Sands and Jack Newhouse, in which you as a parent discover that the monsters under the bed are real and they really really want to eat your children.

Think Little Fears meets Monster of the Week

Disclaimer: very new game; system may be a bit ropey, may be in playtest, but we'll have fun!

Kapcon XXV: Call for larps

Kapcon wants your larps!

We are planning to run a larp stream this year, with the aim of providing around 24 player spaces per round. The parameters of running a larp at kapCon are pretty simple: runs in 3 hours, fits in a classroom, 8 - 15 players, minimal set-dressing (because you won't have time to do it between rounds). Please also note that the changing facilities aren't great, so costume-light is an advantage.

We will pre-register players if your game is costumed, to allow you to cast in advance.

If you're interested, please fill out the game registration form

We'd like to have larps for rounds 1 and 2 at least sorted by mid-October for the main launch, and the sooner we have a larp timetable set the sooner we can start getting players.

PIGEONS

Facilitator:
Rachel Hannover O'Connor

The concrete jungle is cracked high-rises, powerlines, graffiti on flickering street lamps, chewing gum on the pavement.

Sometimes it's acrid yellow smoke and chalk circles, and you gots to stay away from those. Once you saw a thing with, uh.. with.. at least… three-plus-more-plus-many weird bendy legs come out.

Pigeons are SCRAPPY and BOLD and your spinning little beady eyes DON’T MISS NUFFIN. Not like those RUBBISH STARLINGS in the Beakers gang. ha.

No. You are the CLAWS. You are cunning and tough! Which is why you can deal with ANYTHING. Even mystery appearing ground-holes that try to kidnap you at night.

Strength Within You

Facilitator:
Brooklynne

You've just woken up, you don't know where you are, furthermore where is your sister, or best friend, or cousin is. Should you stay where you are? it looks like there was a big accident nearby. Eventually you come upon some strangers, maybe together you can find your missing loved ones. Things would be easier too if you could find anyone else, or a place to eat. Can you go on with your loved ones gone? Do you have the strength within you?

Inns and Outlaws

Facilitator:
Sam Walker

You and your friends have finally reached the age where you can begin your journey into the big wide green. Put on those sturdy rainboots, trade those smelly sleeping bags for delicious rations, load up your extra pony and (especially) keep your Tastegood Taste spell handy. Surely, the road from Grave to Meadowton can't be too dangerous for your first adventure?

Ryuutama is an Japanese heartwarming tabletop RPG of travel and wonder; an RPG where D&D meets Miyazaki. The PCs are wanderers and traders who solve problems in the places they visit, whilst encountering nature.

Urban Shadows

Facilitator:
James Plunket

Urban Shadows is an urban fantasy roleplaying game where you’ll play characters struggling to survive in a dark urban environment drowning in supernatural politics. The game focuses heavily on the gritty drama and tense violence that we see so often in works like The Dresden Files, Angel, Mortal Instruments, the PC Grant novels and World of Darkness.

The rules for Urban Shadows are based on Apocalypse World in which you play to find out what happens. The mechanics push the story forward toward exciting and unexpected ends; your actions are resolved with minimal rules and maximum drama. This session is intended to heavily utilise contributions from players to shape the story and the city that it takes place in.

NB: This was formerly "Handful of Dust" run by Luke Walker. The games are essentially the same, it's just a change in the GM.
