Call of the Deep

Facilitator:
Emlyn

This trip was just supposed to be a nice break from the stress of University. It wasn't supposed to end like this. It was just a stupid abandoned Manor, there surely wouldn't be anything actually dangerous there. Right?

You are a group of Uni friends, on a remote trip away, and you've made the potentially fool-hardy decision to explore an abandoned seaside manor. What was supposed to be a fun romp, turns into a nightmare, as something stalks the halls, and mysteries lie within every room and hallway. Will you escape? And if you do, will you be the same person who entered?

This is a Homebrewed Dread game. The Dread system uses a Jenga tower instead of dice, with each action being a "Pull" of the tower. As such this game requires a level of manual dexterity. Otherwise, it is heavily narrative and RP focused.

Dread: Cyber-Nightmares

Facilitator:
Jay 'Rakdos'

The year is 2557. Machine and human are closer than ever; virtual reality and augmented reality are commonplace, while the internet grows each hour, let alone each day or month. Cybernetic enhancements can be bought and sold in shops alongside televisions and appliances.

Quincey Morris High School, shut down in the 1960s, was cleaned and reinstated around 2525, and has been a stellar institute of learning so far.

However, there are rumours.

Some say that the old spirits from another age have arisen slowly with the school. Others think that the freedom around the campus attracts the weird and twisted.

Dread: The Sun over Mesa Amarillo

Facilitator:
Russ Kale

Heading out into the desert for a camping trip seemed like a great idea. You're all perfectly aware of how dangerous it is out there, yeah, but you know what you're doing - you've done it before, and you're teenagers, which makes you indestructible, right?

What a shame it's not just the desert that you have to contend with out here. There's something here with you, and you're not sure what it is, but it only comes out after dark...

[The Sun over Mesa Amarillo is a Dread scenario for six players, about lights in the sky, bloodthirsty monsters, and conspiracies]

Project Neptune

Facilitator:
Russ Kale

Saturday afternoon was good. Teenagers were enjoying summer vacation, the working stiffs finally got a chance to unwind in the sun, there was a housewarming you were invited to near the beach.

But in the marshlands, something was awakening.

Saturday evening was very good. Tony jumped into the pool from the hotel roof, which was awesome. The burgers were ready on the grill. Everyone was having a good time. The car almost ran out of gas, but you got to the forecourt just in time. They liked the wine you picked out.

It was rising, though. It was heading for the inner city.

Saturday night was terrifying. Something was attacking the city. You think you saw it, for a brief second, three stories tall, wreathed in smoke. The National Guard was called in. The apartment building was evacuated. There was a fire at the gas station. There were these things, one of them got Tony, and... they...

You've wound up at the convenience store. You didn't intend to be here, but the door was open and you thought it was safer to be inside. Now you just need to make it until dawn, or until they kill that thing, or until someone comes to help.
All you know is that that creature is attracted to noises. A noise means that its prey is nearby. All you need to do is keep quiet until help gets here. Soon. Soon. Just a little longer. Please.

Silent Night

Facilitator:
Dale

I'm dreaming of a white Christmas...

"...shutting down as blizzard conditions come out of nowhere..."

with every Christmas card I write

"...there's a lot of passengers facing Christmas in an airport terminal Chuck..."

May your days be merry and bright

"...please if anyone can hear us, help, please, there's something out there... Please help us! It's coming!"

and may all your Christmases be white.

Shadows of Yesterday

Facilitator:
Dale

Some wounds never fully heal; you can’t remember how long you’ve been here in the hospital, but the nurses say that you were injured during a battle. They say you’re lucky to be alive. You remember the mud and the blood, the trenches and the whistle and roar of incoming artillery… But there’s something else, something terrible and elusive that lurks at the edge of your memory. Your war may be over, but the horror has only just begun.
