Can you hold out until Imperial legions break the siege?

Our Entire High School Sinking into the Sea

Facilitator:
Russ Kale

It's the end of another year at Silverward High, in the beautiful Pacific Northwest, and everyone's getting ready for the senior prom. The theme, after a lot of argument and compromise, is 'The Sea and Stars', so you can expect a certain... diversity of gowns and tuxedos.

However, Silverward has been abuzz over the last few months with rumours of some horrible evil lurking in the school grounds. You don't want to be spending the best night of the year averting disaster, but you may have to team up with your friends (and enemies) to make sure there's still a student body left to vote for prom queen.

You are the Prime Suspect in a Murder Investigation

The world is changing; a great economic depression wipes out the life savings of rich and poor alike.
But the party goes on for the wealthy and well-heeled, determined to ignore the impending financial crisis and dance long into the night.

Now a brutal murder threatens to shatter this world of privilege, influence and power. One of your own is dead and a Great Detective has been summoned to solve the case.

Yes you had a motive, and perhaps even the means and opportunity to commit the murder, but you're certainly not the only one...

Clear your name and uncover the real killer, before it's too late!

Wicked Lies & Alibis is a whodunnit roleplaying experience set in the age of Art Deco. Players generate characters at the table from a selection of cards, and play through several establishing scenes in the lead-up to a murder. The remainder of the game is resolved through accusations, alibis and flashbacks as the characters seek to avoid suspicion by incriminating one another.

Tales From The Loop

Facilitator:
Conan McKegg

In 1954, the Swedish government ordered the construction of the world’s largest particle accelerator. The facility was complete in 1969, located deep below the pastoral countryside of Mälaröarna. The local population called this marvel of technology The Loop.

You are early teenagers in an 80s that never was. Everyday Life is full of nagging parents, never-ending homework and classmates bullying and being bullied. But in the countryside near the Loop there are Mysteries to be discovered.

Strange machines, weird creatures, all kinds of mysteries to be discovered. An opportunity to be part of something wonderful. Magical. Terrifying.

Small larp signup is open

Registration for small larps is now open. We don't have very many this year, so space is limited (of course if you want to offer one, you can submit it via the usual form).

We're not running any larps in rounds 1 or 2 this year because of the Megagame, but we've got stuff in later rounds. Specifically:

If you'd like to register, please email me on kapcon@gmail.com. As with tabletops, I'll be running a "shark week" with allocation on preferences (for round 3 at least), after which it is first come, first served. If you are a GM, you can beat the system by exercising a GM pick (so GM a game, people :)

LARP: T.R.Y.S.T. (Transtemporally Rekindling Yesterday's Sweeter Times

Congratulations Oliver and Charlotte Wilson!
Your application to the T.R.Y.S.T. marriage counselling service has been successful!
We have decided that the "reunion" package will be the most beneficial in your situation. Your biological data will be used to obtain a temporal lock on your past selves so that we may present you with a look at your entire relationship and let you assess how you wish to proceed with the rest of your lives; together or apart.

This game takes a good, hard look at the concepts of true love and identity. Throughout the different periods of our life, are we essentially different people?

Headspace: Blunt Force Trauma in Vancouver.
(Powered by the Apocalypse.)

This game has a central premise that is rather similar to the tv show Sense8!

The year 2074 has kind of sucked as far as Vancouver is concerned. 6 months ago a series of tsunami's tore apart the infrastructure, 3 months ago a plague led to the corporate security enforced quarantine zones and now 5 corporations are picking through the remains, feasting on the bodies and hiding the blame.
That doesn't sit well with you or the allies that share your headspace. Sharing each others skills makes you much more capable than those who would shut you down. Unfortunately, it also means you also share each others baggage and emotions. Dealing with that may be your greatest challenge.

This game is, on the one hand, about being hyper-capable kick arse super spy Jason Bourne/Mission Impossible types.
On the other hand, it's about emotional overload, coming to term with regrets and sharing intimate failures and successes. Because this style of play can get quite intense I will be implementing the 'X Card' where any player can call the end of a scene without having to explain or justify. I want a safe and non-judgemental place to explore what's inside the characters heads.

Shadowrun: Rain

Facilitator:

Ms Johnson needs a job done, she needs you to break into a compound and ‘extract’ someone for her. She is willing to pay well, and doesn’t care if you make a mess doing it. Who knows, maybe this will be the one time you get to unholster your weapon and still sleep at night. Just a shame it’s raining.
